Deleting a Payreq account is a privacy request. It is not an immediate guarantee that every record will be erased.
Before making the request, review what you still need from Payreq.
- Download copies of documents you must keep.
- Review active subscriptions and arrange another delivery method with each issuing organisation where required.
- Check scheduled payments and auto-payment instructions.
- If you use a shared Payreq Mailbox, download any documents you need from it. The Mailbox will remain available to its other users, but you will lose access when your deletion is processed.
- Record the names of the Payreq accounts included in your request.
Deleting a Payreq login or account does not change records held by an employer, council, utility, biller or payment provider. Contact those organisations separately if their records also need to change.
Email Payreq's data privacy manager at support+privacy@payreq.com. Include your login email and the names of the Payreq accounts covered by the request. Do not include your password, verification codes or full payment-card details.
Payreq may ask for information to confirm your identity. The current privacy policy says Payreq must retain basic customer information, including contact, identity, financial and transaction data, for six years after a person ceases to be a customer for tax purposes. Other information may also need to be retained for legal, regulatory, accounting, complaint or litigation reasons. Payreq will tell you if a legal reason prevents some information from being erased.
After the approved deletion request is lodged, Payreq sends a notice advising that the account will be deleted within seven days. You can withdraw the request at any time before it is processed by replying to the deletion email or contacting the data privacy manager. Reply immediately if you did not make the request.
Other users of a shared Payreq Mailbox are not notified when you request deletion or when your access is removed.
