Glossary: Payreq Mailbox terms and definitions

Auto-payment

An instruction that uses a saved payment card to pay eligible future bills automatically under the limits and timing options you choose.

BPAY Batch

A specialist Payreq Group workflow that creates a payment instruction file for selected bills. You upload and authorise the file through a bank service that supports BPAY Batch. It is separate from BPAY View.

BPAY View

A service offered by participating billers and financial institutions that lets you receive and manage eligible bills through online banking. It is separate from the specialist batch payment file workflow available in some Payreq business accounts.

Delivery method

Where an organisation sends your documents. Available methods can include Payreq Mailbox, email, supported software integrations or BPAY View.

Document

A bill, notice, pay statement, tax document or other file delivered through Payreq.

Inbox

The section of your Payreq Mailbox that holds the documents delivered to you. It is where you search for, view and download them. The Inbox is one part of the Payreq Mailbox, not another name for it.

Issuing organisation

The council, utility, employer, payroll provider or other organisation responsible for the document and its contents.

Multi-factor authentication (MFA)

An account-security check that requires another form of verification in addition to your password.

Payreq account

The login you create with your email address. One Payreq login can be given access to more than one Payreq Mailbox.

Payreq Group

Payreq features for teams that manage documents for multiple properties, customer accounts or business locations.

Payreq Mailbox

The secure area of Payreq you sign in to. It is where you manage your subscriptions, retrieve your documents and make payments. Your delivered documents sit in the Inbox section within it.

Payreq Support

The team that helps with Payreq account access, subscriptions and technical problems. Questions about a document's contents, amount or issue date belong with the issuing organisation.

Sender

In these guides, the organisation that sends or issues a document. In most situations, we use the organisation's name or the term issuing organisation instead.

Service

The document service offered by an organisation in Payreq. An organisation may offer more than one service.

Subscription

The secure connection that allows an organisation to send documents for a particular account, property or employee record to your chosen delivery method.

T4 slip

A Canadian tax document supplied by an employer. An employer may use Payreq to deliver T4 slips and other tax documents.

Verification details

Information used by the issuing organisation to match your subscription to the correct record. Examples can include an account number, employee number, customer name or postal code.
