What is a Deregistered subscription?

Modified on Fri, 24 Oct at 12:02 PM

A deregistered subscription is a registration record that is no longer active. This means the customer will no longer receive digital documents via Payreq for that subscription.

Who can deregister a subscription?

A subscription can be deregistered in two ways:

  • By the customer (e.g. through their BPAY View, email, or Smart Mailbox settings)

  • By the mailer (e.g. Council or Utility) on request or as part of internal processes

What happens when a subscription is deregistered?

  • The subscription becomes inactive

  • The subscription status is updated to Deregistered

  • The subscription record remains viewable for reference

  • If the customer has no remaining active digital subscriptions, paper mail will automatically recommence

How can I see if a subscription has been deregistered?

To find deregistered subscriptions:

  • Go to the Subscriptions tab

  • Filter by clicking Deregistered at the top of the list.

  • The deregistered date will appear in the subscription record.

How is Deregistered different to the Deregister? status?

The “Deregister?” status appears on a subscription when it has been flagged for cancellation, but the  deregistration has not yet been completed. Read more: What does the "Deregister?"status mean? (deregister? subscription)
