What is a subscription?

Modified on Mon, 7 Sep at 4:14 PM

A subscription is a secure connection between your Payreq account and an organisation that sends you documents.

You need a subscription for each service or account you want to receive documents for. Creating a Payreq account alone does not tell an organisation which documents belong to you.

What happens when you subscribe

You choose an organisation and one of its available services, then:

  1. select an available delivery method;
  2. enter the verification details requested by the organisation;
  3. accept the applicable terms and submit the request; and
  4. complete any email verification or approval steps shown to you.

The verification details vary. They may include an account number, employee number, customer name, postal code or another identifier shown on an existing document.

Why approval may be required

The issuing organisation may review your request before it sends documents to you. Some requests are matched automatically, while others may require review. This protects the information from being delivered to the wrong person or account.

Once the subscription is active, new documents are sent using the delivery method you selected. Whether older documents are also available depends on the organisation and service.
